The Iowa State Bar Association will be hosting the 2022 Bloethe Tax School from Wednesday, Nov. 30 through Friday, Dec. 2. Attendees may participate in-person at the Courtyard by Marriott in Ankeny or online. The agenda will include local and national speakers on the latest in tax legislation, tax forms and more. Serving as chair for this year’s event, attorney Kyle Wilcox will be kicking off the event and will also serve on the blue Ribbon Panel. Kyle Wilcox has been counseling individuals for over 15 years with matters relating to estate planning, wills, probate and tax law. He helps families plan the disposition of their assets, both during lifetime and at death, and to accomplish the most optimal estate and gift tax plan. Mr. Wilcox assists clients with the administration of trusts and with the probate of estates at death. He understands tax consequences associated with business transactions and estate planning as he prepares personal and fiduciary (trust and estate) income tax returns.

Travis Cavanaugh advises individuals and business clients regarding estate and wealth transfer planning, general business and corporate law, banking, and tax matters. Mr. Cavanaugh’s prior experience as a public accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago provides useful insight into tax implications as it relates to personal and business succession planning, gift and estate tax planning, and general business transactions. In addition, Mr. Cavanaugh prepares estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and fiduciary income tax returns.
