Nick AbouAssaly Presents 9th Marion State of the City Address
Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC was proud to support Marion Mayor Nick AbouAssaly as he delivered his ninth State of the City address to a sold-out crowd at the Cedar Rapids Marriott.
This year’s “Setting the Standard” message by “Reaching Higher” focused on 2024 projects, including the addition of two 24/7 emergency departments, refurbishing an old train caboose to be used as the centerpiece of the new Draper Park, offering a mobile library, and automated garbage collection. Marion is also preparing to break ground on a new Central Plaza in the city square. Nick spoke on his excitement for these major initiatives, giving credit to "Team Marion".
Marion is the 13th largest city in the state. The population of Marion has grown 20% since 2010, and nearly 60% since 2000.
